Encarta World English Dictionary for Macintosh
hhm, I thought I'd spend a couple of seconds to
follow up on my earlier post about the Encarta World English Dictionary that's
included in Office V.X for Mac. I'm no whizz at searching, but if I can't find
what I'm looking fo r with in a couple of clicks from a start point, (In this
case, www.mactopia.com) I'll try a search field or two.

AGGGHH!
OK,... how about 'all words' =

Well, my half hour is
not
going to turn into an hour. I found this in the "Product and Technology Catalog"
for Microsoft ® Office 2001 for Mac under the "Features"
heading
Encarta World
English Dictionary
Office
2001 applications offer new integrations with the critically acclaimed Encarta
World English Dictionary, allowing people to find definitions of highlighted
words. Users can now define complex words without launching a separate
application or looking up words in a paper dictionary
And that's the only mention I
could find so far of this in ANY Mac product (after
1995).
Hold on, let me go back and
check for specs in the Word
standalone...
Nothing. So I guess you'll have
to take my word for the fact that the
Encarta World English Dictionary
is included in Office for Mac OS X. I don't
know if it's also in the Word for Mac OS X standalone. Microsoft isn't
telling.
What a waste of time
that
was.
